The Polestar 1 was built to prove that electrification and driving pleasure are not mutually exclusive. Its hybrid drivetrain delivers 619 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque through all four wheels, and the chassis was tuned by the same engineers who made the Volvo S60 Polestar one of the most capable sports saloons of its era. But the car weighs 2,350 kg, and that weight punishes components that a conventional GT never thinks about -- regenerative braking efficiency, electric motor response time, and the energy cost of accelerating wheel mass from a standstill dozens of times per commute. The B-te Noire Ver1.9 tackles all three by being roughly 30% lighter than any cast wheel in its size range.
The Ver1.9 is a seven-spoke design with an aero-conscious profile -- each spoke is slightly dished on its trailing edge to reduce turbulent air recirculation inside the wheel arch. The overall aesthetic is purposeful without being aggressive, sitting comfortably alongside the Polestar 1's clean, architectural body lines. In brushed titanium it picks up the car's Scandinavian cool; in satin black it vanishes into the body shadow and lets the coupe silhouette dominate. CNC-machined from a single billet of 6061-T6 forged aluminium, the Ver1.9 meets the structural requirements of a heavy hybrid GT while keeping unsprung mass to a minimum.
| Bolt pattern | 5x108 |
| Recommended diameter | 20" or 21" |
| Width range | 9J front / 10J rear (staggered) |
| Offset range | ET25 -- ET42 |
| Centre bore | 63.4 mm |
| Material | 6061-T6 forged aluminium |
| Weight | ~30% lighter than equivalent cast wheel |
The 5x108 bolt pattern limits the Polestar 1's aftermarket options significantly. The Ver1.9 is engineered specifically for this fitment with hub-centric mounting on the 63.4 mm bore. Clearance for the Akebono brake package is confirmed at both diameters. Our sizing guide covers the ride quality and range trade-offs between 20 and 21 inches.
The Ver1.9 was produced by Hodoor's AI wheel design programme, which generates over 1,000 concepts daily. Each design is validated for forged monoblock production. The design phase is free; manufacturing begins only upon your approval.
Only 1,500 Polestar 1s were made. Will these wheels fit if parts become scarce?
The Ver1.9 is manufactured independently of Polestar's supply chain. Because each wheel is CNC-machined to order from raw 6061-T6 billet, availability is not tied to any OEM production run. We can produce replacement wheels for as long as the material and tooling exist -- which, for forged aluminium, is effectively indefinitely.
Does the seven-spoke design provide adequate brake cooling?
Yes. Seven spokes create generous openings between each spoke, allowing excellent airflow to the Akebono calipers and ventilated rotors. The slight dish on each spoke's trailing edge also acts as a scoop at speed, actively directing air toward the brakes. More on brake and wheel interaction in our forged wheels guide.
Can I run a square setup instead of staggered?
A square setup (same width front and rear) is possible and simplifies tyre rotation. However, the Polestar 1's rear-biased torque delivery and wider rear track benefit from a wider rear wheel. We recommend staggered for performance-focused driving and square for convenience. Email us to discuss which suits your priorities.
